Our Story
Saltwater Technologies Ltd was founded in Plymouth, Devon — a city with deep maritime heritage and a long history of engineering excellence. Our mission is straightforward: to build the best gasket insertion tools available for the oil & gas, subsea, and marine pipeline industries, covering API 6A, API 6B RTJ and NORSOK L-005 compact flange standards.
Our tools were born out of a real-world need. Traditional methods of gasket insertion into pipe flanges are difficult, time-consuming, and hazardous — particularly in subsea environments where divers must work in zero visibility with heavy steel components. We set out to design a better solution.
Every Saltwater Technologies tool is precision-machined from SAE 316 marine-grade stainless steel, built to withstand the corrosive forces of saltwater environments. Our designs are simple, mechanical, and reliable — because below the surface, complexity is the enemy.
The Problem We Solve
Inserting gaskets into pipeline flange recesses is one of the most challenging tasks in pipeline assembly. On the surface, it requires careful alignment of heavy components. Underwater, the difficulty increases exponentially.
Without proper tooling, workers risk crush injuries as flanges are brought together. Divers working in murky water must rely entirely on touch, making precise gasket placement extremely difficult.
Our gasket insertion tools solve this problem by providing a mechanical means to position gaskets accurately and safely — every time, in any conditions. The tool clamps to the flange, holds the gasket in position, and guides it into the recess with precision that manual methods simply cannot match.
